POS Systems
A Point of Sale (POS) system is essentially a computerized cash register, which consists of a cash drawer, receipt printer, input device (keyboard or touch screen) and a computer. However, in addition to performing standard point-of-sale activities such as calculating and recording transactions, POS systems are also business management solutions.

POS Systems create detailed reports about multiple aspects of a business’s operations. These reports can improve efficiency and reduce costs by allowing store owners to schedule employees, determine which items are most profitable and to better predict sales volume and needed inventory. In addition to typical cash register functions, POS systems are designed to control costs, speed up turnaround times and help with inventory and accounting.
